View on PurrifyWhat each brand lists
Fresh Step Simply Unscented is a clumping clay with enhanced carbon and Ammonia Block Technology, formulated with no added fragrances or dyes. Arm & Hammer Super Scoop Fragrance Free is described as clay with baking soda that forms hard clumps and carries no fragrance. Both are clumping clay litters sold without added scent, so they are the two to set side by side.
[1][2]Scent, format and the dust claim
Scent is shared ground. Fresh Step says no added fragrances or dyes and describes a fragrance-free experience, and Arm & Hammer sells Super Scoop as fragrance free. What does differ is the odor feature: Fresh Step names carbon and Ammonia Block Technology, and Arm & Hammer names baking soda. Super Scoop comes in 14, 20, 26.3 and 40 lb formats, so you can start with a small bag before committing. The maker also calls it low tracking and 99% dust-free, which is the maker's own claim.
[1][2]The powder is a different category
Arm & Hammer's Cat Litter Deodorizer Powder is not Super Scoop. Its disclosure lists sodium bicarbonate as the deodorizer, perlite and hydrated silica as process aids, and fragrance. The maker says to add it straight to any type of litter. It goes into a litter rather than replacing one, and the fragrance on its list matters if you chose an unscented clay to avoid scent.
[3][4]Choosing between them
Picks rest on published maker pages. Scent will not decide this one, since both litters are sold without added fragrance. Choose Fresh Step Simply Unscented for carbon, Ammonia Block Technology and written scooping directions. Choose Super Scoop Fragrance Free for a baking soda clay in 14, 20, 26.3 and 40 lb formats. Buy the powder only if you are keeping your current litter and want a disclosed ingredient list. Purrify is a separate fragrance-free carbon add-in that works with either litter, and the 120g bag is our usual start. [1][2][4][5]How we compare
These are desk comparisons. We read what the makers publish, set the products side by side and pick by fit. We have not tested the products ourselves, so the pages report no measured results, no lab figures and no numerical ratings. Every comparison lists its sources.
